Submission Guidelines

Feign accepts fiction only, up to 6000 words long. Beginning in 2026, Feign is pleased to announce payment of $50 per story, delivered on publication.

Please have your work formatted with double spacing and in a 12pt font, Times New Roman preferred.

Cover letters are welcome but are not mandatory. If you choose to provide a cover letter, we suggest that you copy and paste into the form. Hitting the return key may push the form prematurely. You can always reach out to feignlit@gmail.com with any issues about your submission, using the subject line “Submission Update”.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted but do let us know immediately if the work you submitted to us is accepted elsewhere. Email feignlit@gmail.com with the subject line, “Withdraw” to notify us.

Response times will vary between 1-3 months at this time. After 12 weeks, please don’t hesitate to inquire about the status of your submission, by emailing feignlit@gmail.com with the subject line, “Status Update”.
